I am Tamara Shahiya, a Ukrainian-born artist based in Türkiye. I was born in Sevastopol, Crimea, in 1976 and moved to Antalya in 1995.

Painting has been part of my life for nearly twenty years. What began as a private space for meditation, calm, and self-expression gradually became the center of my life after a period of profound personal change and healing.

My work is shaped by my experiences, memories, and my search for harmony within an often difficult world. Having witnessed the effects of war and conflict throughout my life, I feel a deep need to create images that carry a sense of peace, beauty, balance, and hope.

For me, painting is not only a form of expression, but a way of transforming lived experience into something that can be shared with others.
